STAFF PROFILE
Bartina Edwards graduated from the
College
of Charleston in 1987 with a double major in French and Business
Administration. Prior to attending law school, Ms. Edwards was
employed in the banking industry for over ten years. She later owned
and managed a staffing agency, a consulting and strategic firm and
held ownership in a turnkey marketing firm. She is a cum laude
graduate of the NCCU School of Law. She has been admitted to and is
a member of the North Carolina Bar and the Western District of North
Carolina.
Upon graduation from law school, she received the Floyd B. McKissick
Leadership Award, the N.C. Chapter of Academy Matrimonial Lawyers
Award and the N.C. State Bar (Student) Pro Bono Award.
Ms. Edwards has maintained Life & Health Insurance and Series 6 & 63
investment licenses; she has been published in NBLSA Magazine,
Community Pride Magazine, and the NCCU Law Journal. She is the
recipient of numerous awards and has been profiled in The Charlotte
Observer and the University Times. She is active in several civic
and community associations, boards and organizations. Additionally,
she is a member of the North Carolina Bar Association, American
Trial Lawyers Association, American Bar Association, North Carolina
Association of Women Attorneys, Mecklenburg County Bar, and the
Leary Bar.
Ms. Edwards has volunteered with the NCCU Business Law Clinic, the
Innocence Project, volunteered in Legal Services on the Immigration
and VAWA (Violence Against Women Act) Project, and has held
internships with the 26th Judicial District, the law offices of
Julie Fosbinder, and Ferguson, Stein, Chambers, Adkins & Sumter. Ms.
Edwards worked with Shirley L. Fulton at Tin Fulton Greene & Owen,
PLLC.
Ms. Edwards is published and speaks on topics that contribute
meaningfully to the community.
Her background has been one of serving individuals, businesses,
